for VHM drills – the highest grade. All other carbide grades are below. With the quantity scale up to 47,20 €/kg from 30 kg.
The gradeThere's not one carbide price, but one per kind. What your scrap metal does is determined by purity, alloy and adhesion – not by weight alone. Enter your amount: The expected proceeds are immediately next to it, and you can put the grade right into the sales basket.

Daily prices, daily checked. They apply to pure scrap metal. The decisive factor is the calibrated weighing after the assessment – the data are a guideline, not a commitment.
Calculated with today's price for VHM drills – the highest grade – and with the quantity scale, not with the basic price times quantity. Started, lacquered or alloyed scrap metal lies below; the grades above show how much.

The season starts at 0 kg and lasts to 30 kg. We calculate larger items individually – request an offer. From €1,000 payment, the Money Laundering Act requires an ID card. Up to 1,000 kg you can send in tungsten carbide as DHL package throughout Germany; from 500 kg we pick up.
Our buying prices follow the London Metal Exchange (LME) and are updated daily. Show us a better offer and we will pay at least the same price — across Germany, by shipping or collection.
A carbide price applies only to the day it is created – therefore, the table is at the top of this page and not in the flow text: each grade with its current status and date. All grades show Metal prices, group Carbide.
Carbide is not traded on the stock exchange – there is no quotation for sintered tool scrap. The value is determined by its components: tungsten carbide and cobalt binder. Tungsten does not have a stock exchange contract, its price is generated via reference values for concentrate and APT (ammonium paratungstate) which the commodity trade leads as price bands. Cobalt, on the other hand, is listed on the metal exchange and moves fast. Solid carbide contains around 85 to 94 percent tungsten carbide and 6 to 15 percent cobalt – the alloying component is the calculation size here.
Carbide scrap does not simply become carbide again. It must be analysed, crushed and processed in the zinc process or chemically until carbide powder is recovered; this includes sorting, weighing and transport. The span is the path your scrap metal has ahead of it – the more varietal, the shorter.
Widia indexable inserts and Solid-carbide drills are solid carbide throughout: the whole body is sintered tungsten carbide, not just the cutting edge – that's why they are above. HSS high-speed steel is not tungsten carbide, but high-alloy tool steel with tungsten, molybdenum and cobalt: clearly above steel scrap, just as clearly below VHM. Mixed carbide scrap is unsorted collectibles; because the analysis calculates the weaker proportion, it lies below. Solid carbide scrap are massive drawing stones and matrices: high carbide content, but often with pressed-in steel frames, and they cost the tee.
You can send up to 1,000 kg via DHL throughout Germany: Choose a grade, specify the quantity, shipping label comes from us by e-mail, parcels are delivered – per package a maximum of 31.5 kg, 6 euros per package will be charged with the payout. From 500 kg we pick up Germany-wide, the collection costs are staggered after distance (40 to 350 Euro) and are fixed before the journey. Deliver without appointment: Industriestraße 4, 67063 Ludwigshafen am Rhein, Monday to Saturday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. (Delivery). Further delivery points will follow.
Weighing is on calibrated scale, the weighing slip is yours; will be paid within 24 hours, minimum payout 25 euros. The initial classification is done by choosing the grade at the time of sale – calculated according to the actual grade. For larger quantities request an offer.
Disconnect VHM and HSS: If solid carbide is landed in the HSS box, it will be paid for HSS rate. Tungsten carbide is twice as heavy and keeps at the magnet weaker. Drain tools before: Oil and emulsion weigh with and pollute the batch. Steel shafts and slicings belong. And collect instead of sending individually: the quantity squadrons take off from 10 and from 30 kilograms.
Carbide carries the highest kilo price in the house because tungsten is in it. VHM – solid carbide from drills and milling cutters – is at the top. Follow inserts, also coated. HSS is not tungsten carbide, but high-speed steel and its own lower grade. The difference can be felt in the weight: carbide is remarkably heavy.
For carbide there is no stock exchange listing as for copper; the price follows the tungsten market and is set per lot. That's why a request with photo and weight is worth more than any other scrap metal. Even a box of indexable inserts from machining is a process we're talking about.
Carbide itself is not traded on any stock exchange. The price comes from its components: tungsten runs as a concentrate and as an APT with a quotation published in the metal trade, the cobalt binder is listed on the London Metal Exchange. This includes the cobalt content of the grade and the cleanliness of the goods. Therefore, the table shows a purchase price per grade and not a stock exchange price.
At weight: solid carbide is almost twice as dense as high-speed steel, a VHM drill is remarkably heavy in the hand. The magnet attracts both, HSS strong, carbide only weakly over the cobalt binder. Clearly, the fracture sample is: carbide breaks brittle with fine grained, dark grey surface, HSS bends beforehand. HSS we run as our own kind.
Steel in particular: brazed drills with steel shaft, carrier blades of carbide-tipped circular saws, basic bodies of milling cutters and clamp holders. In addition, cooling lubricant and emulsion, which weigh in grinding dust and chip containers, as well as wood and plastic residues of saw blades. Coatings such as TiN or TiAlN are very thin and do not matter.
There is no minimum quantity, only the minimum payment of 25 euros — which a bucket of indexable inserts quickly reaches because carbide is dense and highly valued. More of the same still brings more: Each grade has a set scale, from whose limit we pay a higher rate. Who's on the go Of a kind used in the manufacture of motor vehicles, better collect up to the barrel. Delivering goes without appointment in Ludwigshafen, send in Germany-wide by parcel.
Yeah, or the tape will weigh without being carbide. Loose plates from sorting boxes, trays and tool holders belong in a separate container, the holders themselves are steel scrap. The same applies to plates that still sit in milling heads: loosen screws, remove plates. A quarter of an hour on a box separates the best classification from a mixed one.
