Carbide purchase – VHM, Widia & HSS sell

When buying carbide, we buy VHM drills, indexable inserts and HSS at daily prices – VHM purchase is already worthwhile for small quantities.

Tungsten metal is the most valuable tool scrap that goes over our scales. This includes solid carbide (VHM) based on tungsten carbide as well as the related high speed steel HSS (High Speed Steel). Both occur in machining plants, tool constructions and grinding shops – as blunt drills, disembarked milling cutters, used indexable inserts from the box next to the machine.

The grades

Widia indexable inserts. Inverted inserts (WSP) made of solid carbide, used or new. The best way to compensate is by using clean plates without steel beams, soldering bars and HSS additives.

Solid-carbide drills. Solid carbide tools, in addition to drills, milling cutters and shaft tools. They achieve the highest price without soldered steel shafts.

HSS high-speed steel. High-alloy tool steel with tungsten, molybdenum and cobalt, from which drills, milling cutters, saw blades and threaded tools are manufactured. HSS is well above normal steel scrap, but just as clearly below VHM.

Separate VHM and HSS – that's the lever

Keep both apart. If VHM lands in the HSS box, it is paid at the HSS price, and the difference is considerable. The weight helps to recognize: solid carbide is significantly heavier than HSS, a VHM drill is noticeably richer in the hand than an equally large one made of high-speed steel. Where you are insecure, we will sort out together on the ground before weighing.

Why it is worth shipping small quantities here

Because the material value per kilogram is high, shipping for tungsten carbide is calculated earlier than for any other metal in our program. A well-padded package with a few kilograms of VHM or indexable inserts yields a return that clearly exceeds shipping costs – you don't need half a ton to sell. We accept shipments up to 1,000 kg, Germany-wide.

It is just as well personally: Industriestraße 4, 67063 Ludwigshafen am Rhein, Monday to Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., without appointment. From 500 kg we pick up with our own vehicle fleet, with a staggered pick-up cost after distance. Weighing and disbursement

Weighing on a calibrated scale, the weighing slip is yours. After weighing, we pay out within 24 hours, cash or by bank transfer. From 1,000 € we need an ID card under the Money Laundering Act; in the case of commercial delivery, the tax liability applies according to § 13b UStG. For operations with current seizure we agree fixed conditions instead of daily price per shipment.
