Why the price of aluminium moves

Aluminium is traded on the stock exchange: Primary aluminium is quoted in standard bars, daily on the stock exchange and in dollars. In addition, the market for secondary aluminium comes, because melted in is not a pure product, but cast or wrought alloy. The state of electricity prices – aluminium is the most energy-intensive of the common metals –, of steelworks capacity and exchange rate is being moved.

Why the purchase price is below the quotation

What you're giving up is not a bar. In between are alloy and shape sorting, separation of iron, plastic and rubber, weighing, transport and burn-off. Aluminium can be reused almost without loss – but only when it arrives separately.

What distinguishes the aluminium price per grade

Three things decide: alloy, coating and foreign materials. The bare kneading grades – Alu sheet metal are new blank, never installed and without foil, as well as Bright aluminium profiles, max. 10% anodisedwhere the thin anodized layer is not a varnish and therefore does not cost anything. Among them the coated: Alu profiles with paint, because powder varnish burns in the oven and forms scabs, and Alu Iso profiles removal, whose plastic bar may remain, but also weighs. Casting grades have more silicon and a narrower circle of customers – Alu Casting clean only without steel bushings and residual oil, Clean aluminium alloy wheels without tires, weights and valves; for aluminium rims it is unclean the same casting, but only the metal part is remunerated. Aluminium dishes tolerate ten percent handles and coating, no stainless steel floor. Alu Copper Cooler Fe free lies over pure aluminum, as long as there is no more iron. For aluminium cables, the conductor part counts, not the roller weight. Aluminium chips base 5% are calculated on five percent adhesion, aluminium mixed to a maximum of two.

We pick up from 500 kg all over Germany; the collection costs are staggered after distance (40 to 350 Euro) and are fixed before the journey. Weighing on calibrated scale, the weighing slip is yours, will be paid within 24 hours, minimum payout 25 euros. The initial classification is done with the varietal selection itself; it is calculated according to the actual grade. For larger quantities request an offer.

What you can do for a good price

The biggest levers are rims: tires off, balance weights and valves away, then the clean grade applies. With chips it is the humidity: they weigh more wet, but are classified worse. Otherwise, what the magnet holds is not aluminum and belongs out. Collect blanks and coloured goods separately, not casts to profiles, not cables to sheet metal – the quantity scale reaches for each grade.
