Daily prices, daily checked. They apply to pure scrap metal. The decisive factor is the calibrated weighing after the assessment – the data are a guideline, not a commitment.
Calculated with today's price for brass sleeves – the highest classification – and with the quantity relay, not with the basic price times quantity. Started, lacquered or alloyed scrap metal lies below; the grades above show how much.

The season starts at 0 kg and reaches up to 250 kg. We calculate larger items individually – request an offer. From €1,000 payment, the Money Laundering Act requires an ID card. You can send in brass as a DHL package up to 1,000 kg throughout Germany; we will pick you up from 500 kg.
Our buying prices follow the London Metal Exchange (LME) and are updated daily. Show us a better offer and we will pay at least the same price — across Germany, by shipping or collection.
A brass price is only valid for the day it is created – therefore the table is at the top of this page and not in the flow text: each grade with its current status and date. All grades show Metal prices, group Brass.
Brass is a copper-zinc alloy, there is no stock exchange listing of its own. The reference market is the daily quotations for copper and zinc on the metal exchange, weighted by their share in the alloy. Because copper is more expensive and represents the greater proportion, brass essentially follows the copper market, with exchange rates and demand from foundries.
Pure metals in standardized form, non-used alloys are noted. In between are sorting, separation of foreign metals, weighing, transport and burn-off – zinc evaporates in part when melting, and this is included in the discount. The less processing is needed, the closer your proceeds are.
Two things decide: the copper content of the alloy and the pieceness. Brass cartridge cases from MS72 with about 72 percent copper on top. Brass 63 scrap – sheet metal, punching and thermoforming parts – are over Brass 58 scrap from the turning mill because MS58 contains five percentage points less copper. For Heavy brass scrap and Light brass scrap The alloy can be the same; here counts the wall thickness, because thin fittings have a lot of surface, so more adhesions and more burn-off. Brass turnings are below it because oil, emulsion and moisture weigh along and interfere with melting.
You can send up to 1,000 kg via DHL throughout Germany: Choose a grade, specify the quantity, shipping label comes from us by e-mail, parcels are delivered – per package a maximum of 31.5 kg, 6 euros per package will be charged with the payout. From 500 kg we pick up Germany-wide, the collection costs are staggered after distance (40 to 350 Euro) and are fixed before the journey. Deliver without appointment: Industriestraße 4, 67063 Ludwigshafen am Rhein, Monday to Saturday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. (Delivery). Further delivery points will follow.
Weighing is on calibrated scale, the weighing slip is yours; will be paid within 24 hours, minimum payout 25 euros. The initial classification is done by choosing the grade at the time of sale – calculated according to the actual grade. For larger quantities request an offer.
Out must be everything that is not brass: iron screws, steel spindles in fittings, plastic handles, seals, soldering residue. A magnet does half the work – chromed fittings look like steel and are often overlooked. We only take pods empty, dry and free of detonators. Drain chips, never with iron chips in the same container. And separate by grade: A mixed delivery is evaluated according to its weakest proportion. Larger quantities are also worthwhile because the scale of quantities is effective; the kilo limit per grade is the value of the delivery.
Brass is distinguished by zinc content and joining. MS63 has more copper than MS58 and is therefore higher. The pods are their own grade because they are clean and uniform. Chips are lower: they carry cooling lubricant, and it weighs along. Which grade is your lot, the percentage decides, not the color.
Gunmetal looks like brass and is in price above it, because there are more copper and tin in it. At the fracture gunmetal is reddish, brass yellow. Fittings and pump housings from the sanitary sector are often gunmetal, fittings and profiles mostly brass. If in doubt, send a photo in advance – we'll tell you what kind it is before you drive.
Because of the copper content. Brass is a copper-zinc alloy: MS58 is about 58 percent copper and contains lead as automatic brass, MS63 is around 63 percent. Both shares are listed on the London Metal Exchange, and copper is significantly higher than zinc — each percentage of copper increases its value. This is why the Brass several grades.
File or scratch at a hidden place: Under the chrome layer yellow metal appears in brass, silvery grey in chromed steel. The magnet decides with — brass is not magnetic, steel adheres. Weight and sound help us: Brass sounds bright when hit and is heavy in the hand, zinc die-cast sounds dull and breaks brittle.
Because chips are all the same: cool emulsion and drill oil weigh with, fine chips oxidise more, and steel chips often end up in the same container from the next machine — a magnet through the box shows this in seconds. When melting, fine goods lose more than massive pieces. Dried and varietal chips stand better.
Yeah. As a mixed item in a bucket, the delivery is valued according to the weakest proportion, each grade gets its own set separately. For this purpose, each grade has a quantity scale from which we pay more — more of the same brass brings twice. Three buckets cost nothing. We accept small quantities in Ludwigshafen without an appointment, larger quantities come Germany-wide by parcel or collection.
Yes, as brass sleeves — from the shooting level as well as from a estate. They must be shot down and completely empty; sharp ammunition is not scrap metal and remains outside. Steel sleeves are not part of this, the magnet separates them in a passageway. You better sort out bullets with lead core and plastic plugs from shotgun cartridges before.
