VHM Schrott – drill bits and milling cutters made of solid carbide – is one of the most valuable types of scrap. We charge the VHM scrap price per kg daily; even small quantities are worth shipping.

VHM drill bits are among the highest-remunerated tool scraps. The value is in tungsten carbide, and even a small container full is worth a delivery. We buy from machining plants, tool grinding plants and private individuals – in Ludwigshafen am Rhein and throughout Germany.

What matters to VHM drill bits

VHM stands for solid carbide: The entire tool body consists of sintered tungsten carbide with cobalt binder, not only the cutting edge. In addition to drill bits, we calculate VHM milling cutters, reamers, thread cutters, sinkers and rod residues of the same type. The classification takes place after analysis – who wants to sell solid carbide, therefore sorted cleanly in advance.

Typical seizure sites

Stumped tools from CNC machining, regrinding loops from the tool grinding plant, fragments from manufacturing and stock residue of expired tool types. Breaked tips and grinding residues are also included when collected dry and separately.

Which lowers the classification

Tools with steel shaft and soldered carbide tip are not solid carbide – they run as composites and are classified lower. Soldering points, attached adapters, clamping pliers and cooling lubricant residue also work. Coatings are not a problem, oil and emulsion already: Drain the tools beforehand.

Delimitation to HSS

The most common confusion: HSS high-speed steel is not tungsten carbide, but high alloy tool steel. VHM is noticeably heavier, brittle fracture edges are typical, and HSS keeps much firmer on the magnet. Keep both grades separate. The best way to collect recordware is with the Widia indexable inserts.

Choose grade, specify quantity, receive shipping label, deliver package. Weighing and payment follow. Up to 1,000 kg per shipment is possible. Heavy tools belong in a double box so nothing can get through.

From what amount is the collection worthwhile

From 500 kg we pick up Germany-wide with our own fleet. The collection costs are staggered after distance and are fixed before the journey. With pure solid carbide, the shipment is usually worthwhile, with mixed workshop scrap the collection.

Weighing and disbursement

Weighing on calibrated scales, the weighing is yours. The frame shows the daily price below Metal prices, the exact classification results in the analysis. Payment is made within 24 hours, cash or by bank transfer. In the event of major disbursements, the Money Laundering Act requires an identification card; in the case of commercial delivery, the tax debtor applies according to § 13b of the UStG.
