Stainless steel purchase – V2A & V4A Selling stainless steel scrap

Stainless steel remains in the scrap, which it was used: an alloy with chromium and nickel, which can be melted completely again. For the stainless steel purchase, therefore, it is not the appearance that counts, but the alloy. With us, stainless steel scrap arrives as a railing, kitchen and catering equipment, pipelines, containers and plant parts – from private hands as well as from workshop and production, in Ludwigshafen on the Rhine and throughout Germany.

V2A and V4A to distinguish

V2A, the chrome-nickel steel 18/8 with the material number 1.4301, often also called Nirosta, is by far the most common grade. V4A additionally contains molybdenum (about 20/10/2), is acid-resistant, mainly in chemical, food and marine technology and is significantly higher in remuneration. We're leading V2A waste up to 1,5 m, V4A waste up to 1,5 m and V2A stainless steel turnings as own grades. It is worth separating safely: In the mixture, the whole delivery is evaluated according to the weaker grade. A magnet only gives a first hint – V2A is usually not or only weakly magnetic – that he cannot distinguish the alloys. During the evaluation, we will arrange the scrap metal together with you.

What determines the price

In addition to the alloy, cleanliness decides. The best price for your scrap metal is pure and free of iron adhesions, plastic, seals and composite parts; welded steel feet, hinges or an engine on the container press the classification. At the V2A purchase we also look at the unit size – waste up to 1.5 m can be loaded without cutting, longer parts must be cut. We want chips dry, without strong oil and coolant adhesion and not mixed with steel chips. Because the quotations for nickel and chromium change daily, the daily price of the day of weighing applies.

Weighing and disbursement

Weighing on a calibrated scale, the weighing slip is yours. Payment is made within 24 hours, cash or by bank transfer. From 1,000 € we need an ID card under the Money Laundering Act; in the case of commercial delivery, the tax liability applies according to § 13b UStG.
