Metal disposal for industry and industry: what we do
Metal disposal is not a disposal case in most companies, but a sale that is booked incorrectly. Waste metal has a market value; anyone who treats it as waste pays for driving away and gives away the content. We take over the disposal as purchase: put up container, pick up, weigh calibrated, issue proof and credit the material value.
MKM Metals e.K. is a metal trade with its own value-added yard in Industriestraße 4, 67063 Ludwigshafen am Rhein, and over ten years of experience in the metal trade. The collection takes place throughout Germany, not only in the Rhine-Neckar region. You decide how much of the chain you give: only the collection, only the recycling or everything from the first grid box to the marketing.
Which metals, what quantities
60 grades are purchased in 8 groups — copper, brass and gunmetal, aluminium, stainless steel, non-ferrous metals, lead and zinc, carbide and ferrous or mixed scrap. Each grade has a daily price, to read under Scrap metal buying; Prices without daily rate, for example iron and mixed scrap, we call each process.
The quantity decides on the way, not on the assumption:

Individual parts should be chargierable: no longer than 1.5 metres, no more than 0.5 times 0.5 metres in cross-section. Larger parts we clarify about a Supply in advance, complete plants we disassemble ourselves — see Industrial dismantling.
If something happens continuously, a container stops with you and is exchanged instead of being kept free. You can determine the rhythm by calendar or level. Each exchange is a separate transaction with its own weighing slip and credit — that makes disposal costs calculated per month, instead of hiding them in an annual account.
What the metal disposal costs and what it brings
The assumption itself costs nothing, even for mixed goods. Costs only arise where we provide a service and they are determined before the order:
- Collection costs after distance between your location and Ludwigshafen, staggered between 40 and 350 euros. It is calculated with the crow flies so that the number for both sides remains the same.
- Shipping costs of 6 euros per parcel at DHL shipping, with the payout charged.
- Container configuration according to size, service life and distance, previously agreed in writing. Which containers there are, is under Logistics and containers.
- Self-delivery: no transport costs.
The material value is countervalued. In the case of value-added fractions, therefore, often does not remain a cost item, but a credit. In addition, we have a quantity squadron: from a shipment value of 25 euros, we pay 2 percent, from 2,500 euros, 5 percent on the daily price.
Weighing, proof, settlement
Weighing is done on a calibrated scale, empty and loaded for vehicles. The weighing slip is yours. It is calculated according to the actual grade; which was that and which weight was counted, stands for weighing slip and credit, along with transport costs.
You will receive proof of disposal per fraction for your documents. Companies receive a credit in accordance with § 14 para. 2 VATG; for scrap metal, the beneficiary owes the tax, § 13b para. 2 no. 7 VATG. The money laundering law requires a valid ID card starting from 1,000 euros and the minimum payment is 25 euros. Payments are made within 24 hours of receipt of the weighing slip, by bank transfer or in case of self-delivery cash at the scale.
The procedure in six steps
- Report seizures: grades, estimated quantities, location, desired rhythm — by phone or via the Supply. Feedback within a working day.
- Set and set containers separately per grade.
- They fill and report the level.
- Pick-up with own fleet; regular runtime up to the factory 24 to 48 hours.
- Weighing in Ludwigshafen, weighing slip, proof of disposal.
- Credit and payout within 24 hours.
What the proceeds depend on
Not at total weight, but at varietal purity. In the mixture, the whole delivery is evaluated according to the weaker quality — a control cabinet whose copper is cleanly separated brings a multiple of what it redeems as mixed scrap. Three things work the most:
- Separate containers from the beginning. Sorting afterwards takes longer than two boxes would have cost from the beginning.
- Dry chips. Cooling lubricant and abrasive sludge weigh with, but do not belong in the purchase.
- No foreign iron in the non-ferrous metal containers; a magnetic flow does this in minutes.

What we don't take over
We do not accept batteries and batteries of any kind — neither starter batteries nor battery batteries. Trade is obliged to withdraw for this. On the other hand, we buy pure lead without housing and acid as metal. Household resolutions and furniture are not part of our offer. Oils, coolants, operating materials and artificial mineral fibres run through approved specialist companies; we record them in advance and document the disposal.
