What counts to Copper Millberry

The Copper Millberry price is at the top of each kilogram. This grade is bare copper wire without insulation, metallic shiny, with a content of 99.9% or more. It also runs as Class A. The conductor's component decides on the classification: what is free of insulation, varnish and oxide layer is Millberry – everything else falls one step lower.

Use, origin and demarcation

Typical are ribbed cables (NYY, NYM, H07RN-F), winding wires from motors and transformers as well as wire remnants from cable production. Start-up paints, lacquered wire, oil, soldering tin and iron parts lower the classification.

Starting or painted material we carry as Refining-grade copper, wire of less purity than Cu Berry / 98 %. If the insulation is still attached, we weigh the cable according to the conductor part, for example as Copper cable approx. 70 %. Granules from the preparation run as their own grade.

Millberry copper price: the price formation from ton to kilogram

The copper price is not created with us, but on the stock exchange. The London Metal Exchange quotes pure copper in US dollars per tonne; our purchase price is in euros per kilogram.

There are two steps between this quotation and the copper price on our scale. The first is arithmetic: a ton is a thousand kilograms, and the exchange rate is dollar euro. The second is the distance between quotation and commodity – the quotation applies to cathode copper, with us scrap comes over the scales.

Two factors determine how large this distance is: the cost of processing copper scrap and the quantity delivered. With this grade, the first one is small because nothing has to be removed. Therefore, a current copper price for this grade is the most densely related to the quotation.

Copper price in euro: change over a period

The world market is moving on a large scale supply and demand: Chile and Peru are promoting the majority of world production, and a failure there will work within days. The copper price therefore follows for months more such market trends than the gap between two grades.

Frequently asked questions about the copper price

How much copper can you give in a year? There is no fixed legal limit; it depends on origin and frequency. This is in the common questions.

What do you get for 100 kg of copper? This is the quantity of the scale, and the copper price per kg is then higher than that for a single kilo. What comes out of it is at the top of the grade.

What will copper be worth in 10 years? No one knows that, and anyone who calls a number guesses. Only the direction of demand is known: electricity grids, electric motors and data centers need conductors, and ladders in practice are called copper.

Choose grade, specify quantity, receive shipping label, deliver package – up to 1,000 kg per shipment. After the receipt is weighed and paid at the copper price of the day. From 500 kg we pick up with our own fleet; the collection costs are staggered after distance and are fixed before the ride.

Weighing on calibrated scales, the weighing is yours. Payment is made within 24 hours, cash or by bank transfer. In the event of major disbursements, the Money Laundering Act requires an ID card; commercially, § 13b UStG applies.
