Copper Raff (Raffkupfer) is used copper such as pipes, plates and gutters with attachments or oxidation. We calculate the copper-raff price per kg daily.

What counts to Copper Raff

Copper Raff – also known as refining copper or A-copper – is a high copper scrap that does not achieve the purity of blank wire. These include thick-walled cables without insulation, clean copper pipes, sheets, rods, collectible rails and cast copper. Light start-up colours, low oxidation and small soldering tin residues of compounds do not change the classification.

Typical seizure sites

Heating and sanitary works, dismantling and dismantling in buildings, electrical installations, production residues from metal plants, gutters and copper coverings. Those who have such scrap metal regularly collect it separately from pipes, sheets and castings.

Which lowers the classification

Bemixed aluminium, brass, bronze or tin, iron parts on fittings, along with organic attachments such as oil, varnish and rubber. Also interfere with insulation wool on pipes and water in the pipes. The cleaner you separate, the better the classification.

Delimitation to Millberry and Cu difficult

Blanker, shiny wire is Millberry copper and is rated higher. Massive heavy parts with at least 95% copper run as Cu Heavy Base 95% Copper Content. If the insulation still sits on the ladder, we weigh according to cable type and not as Raff.

Frequently asked questions about buying copper Raff

Do I have to separate pipes, sheets and casts before delivery?

No, all three run in the same grade – separate bundles only facilitate visual inspection. More important is that there is no brass, aluminium or iron in between, because we pull out such admixtures before weighing. If your delivery is consistently massive and heavy, we will check if: Cu Heavy Base 95% Copper Content the more appropriate classification is.

After a bathroom remediation, I have little copper to sell – is that worth it?

Yeah. A carton of pipe sections puts more weight on the scales than most estimate, and parcel shipping is open to you up to 1,000 kg. If you live nearby, leave the pipes without appointment on the farm – This is how the delivery works. In both cases, the weight is weighted on a calibrated scale.

Can I see in advance what copper is worth?

Yes, separately by grade: The price of the day for copper Raff and all other copper grades is subject to Copper price current. Because the quotation is moving daily, we call only daily prices. The initial classification is done by selecting the grade; it is calculated according to the grade we determine at the entrance.
