We buy gunmetal chips (gunmetal chips) from machining dry and iron-free. We charge the red-cast chip price per kg daily.

Gunmetal chips occur during machining of pump housings, bearing bushings and fittings from cast iron. Gunmetaling is a copper-tin-zinc alloy, and the tin content makes the chips one of the most valuable non-ferrous metal grades.

What counts in gunmetal chips

Rotting, milling and drilling chips made of cast red, loose or in barrels and grid boxes. They are recognizable by the reddish-brown colouring, darker than brass chips.

Foundries with post-processing, pump and valve manufacturing, warehouse bushing production, maintenance workshops.

Which lowers the classification

Oil and cooling emulsion, water in the container, iron chips from other machines, sand dust and cleaning cloths. The most pressing factor is the mixing: If brass or bronze chips are added, we lower the entire batch. A separate container on the machine prevents this.

Delimitation to brass chips and general cargo

Light yellow chips are: Brass turnings and run as their own kind. Pieces of parts are to be classified in Gunmetal scrap pieces. The daily quotations are available at: Metal prices.

This is how the parcel shipment works

Choose grade, specify quantity, receive shipping label, deliver package. Chips belong in dense, rice-resistant containers – drained, not wet. We'll accept shipments up to 1,000 kg. After weighing, the payout follows. So you can sell gunmetal without leaving the plant.

From what amount is the collection worthwhile

From 500 kg we pick up Germany-wide with our own fleet; for barrels and lattice boxes this is the usual way. The collection costs are staggered after distance and are fixed before the journey. For current quantities request an offer.

Delivery to Ludwigshafen

Weighing and disbursement

Weighing on calibrated scales, the weighing is yours. The payment is made within 24 hours, cash or by bank transfer. In the event of major disbursements, the Money Laundering Act requires an ID card. In the case of commercial delivery, the tax liability is governed by § 13b of the UStG. We buy from private and commercial, for over ten years as a family business with our own recyclable farm.
